Recently, China Scholarship Council announced the approval results of the 2025 Innovative Talent International Cooperation Cultivation Program. All three projects submitted by Yangtze University received full funding, with all proposed disciplines and participant quotas approved—achieving a 100% success rate. This marks the university’s third consecutive year of securing such nationally competitive grants, placing it among China’s top-tier institutions for new project approvals. With these additions, the university now leads all provincial universities in both the number of newly approved projects and total active projects. Notably, this accomplishment completes the university's coverage of national-level innovation programs across all major disciplines: science, engineering, agriculture, and medicine.

The newly approved projects will select participants through their host institutions, with funding provided by China Scholarship Council (CSC). According to the approval notice, these three projects will have an initial implementation period of three years (2025-2027), enabling the annual dispatch of 19 faculty members and students as a cohort to partner universities in the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, the Czech Republic, and other countries. During the first cycle, the university can sponsor at least 57 faculty and students for academic visits to leading international universities, with total CSC funding reaching approximately RMB 15 million (USD 2.1 million) .

The project application process was organized by Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, with declaration from Professor Gong Quan (College of Medicine), Professor Xia Xiaoping (College of Resources and Environment), and Professor Xiao Taoli (College of Urban Construction). Deep involvement came from Colleges of Electronic Information & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Life Sciences. Since the application process began in September, the university established a dedicated task force, held eight coordination meetings, and organized over ten expert review sessions and mock defense rehearsals to refine application materials—laying a solid foundation for this successful outcome.

The director of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation stated that the office will collaborate closely with relevant units to ensure effective implementation, aiming at cultivating a cohort of innovative, interdisciplinary global talents with critical competencies to meet national needs for the country.
