Recently, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council issued theNotice of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council on the List of Degree-Granting Programs Revoked and Newly Established through Dynamic Adjustment in 2026. The university has been approved to establish two new interdisciplinary master’s degree programs inIntelligent Science and TechnologyandRemote Sensing Science and Technology.
Both newly approved interdisciplinary master’s degree programs are in emerging fields identified as urgently needed by the state. They also build on a strong foundation of interdisciplinary collaboration with the university’s distinctive strengths in petroleum-related disciplines, agricultural sciences, and other fields.
The dynamic adjustment of degree-granting programs represents an important step in the university’s proactive response to major national strategies and regional industrial development needs, as well as its efforts to advance structural reform on the supply side of disciplinary development. In light of national strategic priorities and the university’s disciplinary development needs, the university has proactively optimized and adjusted selected traditional first-level master’s degree authorization points, directing more resources toward emerging interdisciplinary fields. These efforts further consolidate the university’s strengths in distinctive disciplinary clusters, clarify its key disciplinary development priorities, and continuously improve the efficiency of educational resource allocation and the alignment of talent cultivation with societal needs.
Moving forward, the university will take this approval as an opportunity to further optimize its overall disciplinary structure, strengthen the development of interdisciplinary faculty teams and research platforms, and continuously enhance its core disciplinary competitiveness. These efforts will better support major national strategies, including energy security and food security, and contribute to high-quality economic and social development in the region.
