I am Emmanuel Kwesi Nyantakyi, a Senior Lecturer in the faculty of Engineering, Kumasi Polytechnic, Kumasi-Ghana, West Africa. I came to China in March 2012 to pursue a 3-year PhD program in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering in the School of Geosciences, Yangtze University, Wuhan campus, China. I became elated when I arrived in China to seize the opportunity of fulfilling my long cherished dream of acquiring a PhD.
By dint of hard work, I was able to make 15 publications (4 SCI, 3 EI and 6 ordinary papers) in international and refereed journals which has placed Yangtze University on the international stage. After 3 years of solid academic work under the able leadership and direction of Professor Hu wangshui, I was able to graduate with a Doctor of Engineering Degree in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering. I was awarded with a Certificate of Honor for being the best International Graduate student in Yangtze University, June 2015. I intend going back to Ghana and continue lecturing at Kumasi Polytechnic. I wish to impart the knowledge acquired to my students back home.
I am very proud to be an alumnus and a worthy ambassador of this great and wonderful academic institution of excellence. I will gladly recommend the University to prospective students who intend studying Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences. The University boasts of the best professors in Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences in China. The skills and competences of students are greatly improved and enhanced since the industry is involved in their training. This therefore makes the students ready for the job markets as well as the world of works when they complete their studies.
