In order to cultivate students' cross-cultural communication skills and promote mutual understanding and friendship among young people from different countries, on June 1st, YU held the first international football friendly match on the new playground of the East Campus. Domestic students and 48 international students from Pakistan, Congo (Kinshasa), Morocco, Chad, Tanzania, Yemen and other countries were mixed to form 6 teams, competing for the championship through a single round robin format.

At the game venue, each team engaged in intense competition on the green field. They run, pass, shoot, every attack and defense is full of tension and excitement. The audience sometimes cheered for the spectacular goals and sometimes cheered for the thrilling saves. During the competition, both Chinese and foreign student teams demonstrated a high level of teamwork and competitiveness, which left a deep impression on people.

It is worth mentioning that there is not only intense competition but also a strong atmosphere of friendship in the competition. Chinese and foreign student players respected and had friendly exchanges with each other on the field, and together they dedicated a series of exciting and unparalleled matches to the competition. During breaks in the competition, they also shake hands and exchange experiences with each other, enhancing their friendship and understanding.

It is reported that the successful hosting of this international football friendly match has received strong support from YU Youth League Committee, School of International Education, and School of Education and Sports, and is jointly organized by the English Association and YU International Student Union.
