In order to deepen the understanding of Jingchu culture, promote cultural exchange and mutual learning, on September 30th, YU organized a themed activity called Jingchu Culture and National Conditions Study Camp for international students. With the immersive experience of Jingchu culture, nearly 20 international students from 11 countries participated in the activity.

At the Jingchu Intangible Cultural Heritage Skills Inheritance Institute, international students visited four exhibition areas: the Great Lacquer Culture Exhibition Hall, the Master Boutique Exhibition Hall, the Student Works Exhibition, and the Master Workshop. They learned about the development history of Jingchu intangible cultural heritage, personally experienced intangible cultural heritage projects such as Chu style lacquerware decoration skills, Chu style chopping qin, kite grinding eagle, and Yingcheng clay pottery, and personally made lacquerware and clay pottery, experiencing the unique charm and craftsmanship of traditional crafts. In the pyrography workshop, shell carving room, and guqin listening and playing experience area, international students interact and have in-depth exchanges with skilled inheritors.

At the east gate of Jingzhou, international students stroll under the ancient city walls, visit the cultural relics of the Three Kingdoms, and feel the magnificence of the city walls and the clear winding of the moat. Experiencing Chinese intangible cultural heritage firsthand, touching and perceiving the new charm of ancient Chinese cities, international students speak highly of Jingchu culture. SHARNEABAD MD RAKIB, a student from Bangladesh, said, "The lacquer is still beautiful after thousands of years. The lacquer technique has been passed down for thousands of years. The Chinese culture is great, and the Chinese people are great."

It is reported that this event is organized by the School of International Education and is a part of the "Perceiving China" social practice and cultural experience project of the China Scholarship Council in 2024. The aim is to build a Jingchu cultural exchange platform, allowing international students to deeply understand Jingchu culture, achieve multi-level linkage, shape new common historical memories, jointly build a national spiritual home, promote Jingchu culture to go global, and enable the world to understand China through understanding Jingchu culture.
