2019 Opening Ceremony & Class of The Year & Outstanding Individuals Commendation Conference was held in reporting hall # 405, 12th teaching building, East Campus on October 14, 2019 at 7:00 pm. The Ceremony was hosted by Prof. Zeng Yajun, Director of College of International Education.
Prof. Zhou Sizhu, Vice President of Yangtze University, made a speech to welcome new students on behalf of Yangtze University and congratulated the scholarship winners. He appreciated their choice for studying here and hoped that Yangtze University will play a great role in their education. CHUGAEVA OLGA talked about her life and experience on behalf of new students. PAOLA BARRERA IBARRA shared her study experience as the outstanding student representative. Deputy Director Jiang Juan as representative of excellent teachers from Chinese international education center made a speech hoping that all international students can actively understand the history of the university, learn the traditional culture of China, and encourage the freshmen to become highly skilled and conscientious learners. Vice Director of School of International Education Fan Qibing and Wu Liansong read out the decision about the School of International Education to honor outstanding teachers, outstanding class advisers, advanced classses and outstanding individuals in 2019 separately and the files of Chinese government scholarship for outstanding international students. Prof. Zhou Sizhu and other guest leaders gave prizes respectively to the honored groups and individuals.
According to Prof. Zeng Yajun, Director of College of International Education, there are many highlights of the International Education in YU this year. The number of Chinese government scholarship students has reached a high record in history, reaching 12. The freshmen have a high level of Chinese language proficiency and many students have passed HSK5.More and more international students can study with Chinese students. In terms of international students’ countries, students come to study from 12 new countries. International students are from 54 countries in Asia, America, Africa, Europe and Oceania.
